Sometimes....

Love Hurts!!

We just love each other so much...

I think I'll squeeze his face to let him know...

I bet he would really love me to jam my fingers in his mouth.

Ouch!!!

I'm outta here!!

No! Don't even think about it! Talk to the hand!

Oh, come on Luke!  I can't resist.  Let me just squeeze you a little.
Mom, seriuosly.  Can you do something?

Okay, let's just wrestle and make up.  I'm sure I'll bite you back shortly.

  1. Hello,
Let me quickly introduce myself as this must seem odd to get an email from a complete stranger. My name is Andrea Pavkov. I am a mom to two great boys (ages 13 and 15), a wife and was a missionary with my family to Mozambique. I found your email address on your blog. I found your blog through my friends, Aaron and Sarah Beecher (missionaries in Moz) posting about ireachafrica. When I went to the ireachafrica website low and behold are several of my good friends, Heide, Francis and Ursula, Sarah and Aaron and their websites. Yours was there as well. That is the quick version :)

Let me tell you a little bit of our history. My husband and I were married in 1996 after meeting at Bible school. I grew up in New Hampshire and he on the mission field as an MK in Brazil. We left for Mozambique 3 weeks after getting married. We spent a year at Maforga, working with Francis and Ursula, and meeting Jacqui and Aaron and Sarah for the first time, at the boys orphanage named Chigueda. After, having our first son in Zimbabwe in our eleventh month of marriage we returned to the US. We then returned to Moz when he was 8 months old and spent another 10 months in the Gondola and Nampula (up north) area until I was about 6 months pregnant with our second son. We returned to the States for his birth and ended up staying for quite a few years. In 2007 we returned to Moz and worked in Gondola again running an orphanage and Bible school. Our youngest son, who had just turned 8, fell into a dry well one day while visiting Maforga and by the mercy of God survived. We returned to the US a few months later after one of his broken legs did not heal properly. It was realized that he would need corrective surgery but before that all came about God miraculously healed him. We returned to Moz in 2008 and lived there until fall of 2010 in Chimoio again working with orphans. In 2010 we returned to the US for furlough and ended up staying until this point at God's leading. WHEW! Sorry to go on and on and maybe I really should write a book one day like Ursula has told me :)

Regardless, I say all of this as introduction because I felt a prompting when reading your blog to reach out. It is rather odd for me really as I am a pretty shy person (at least with those I don't know). But I wanted to encourage you to GO FOR IT...follow that leading of the Lord to live and minister in Moz. It will be the hardest thing you have ever done in your life but also the most rewarding, life changing and heartbreaking. You couldn't have picked a better team to work with-it is made up of phenomenal, Godly, brilliant, self-sacrificing people. We pray and hope to return to Moz one day as our hearts are always there.

If you ever want to talk I am always available. (this sounds so weird I know) But when you are like minded in reaching out to the poor and needy in Moz sometimes it helps to have someone tell you that you are not crazy for picking up your whole life, leaving your home and family and moving your precious babies to such a difficult, dusty, hot place. You can find me on Facebook as Andrea Pavkov or email me mapavkov@hotmail.com. Here is my blog http://www.thepavkovpraise.blogspot.com/ (which I haven't updated in a long time :( ) but it has some posts about life in Moz. for interest sake.

Be blessed and keep following Him who is worthy, even to the ends of the earth! We will pray for you as you prepare to go. I would love to know if you have any specific requests.

    Sincerely,
    Andrea Pavkov
