Happy Birthday T!

Our friends, The Davis' helped us celebrate Tyson's birthday on May 14. We had a great time as usual. Two year old Jonah kept us entertained and we all took turns squeezing and cuddling Baby Elisabeth. These have to be two of the happiest babies we know. They gave Tyson a book that we are devouring called Loving Our Kids on Purpose. It's about developing heart to heart connections with your child. I'm not going to say much else about it b/c I think if you want to grow in your relationship with your kids, your grandkids, your spouse, or just those close to you you'll want to check it out.

Happy Birthday, Tyson. You are such a loving, caring, fun, compassionate, thoughtful, silly, adventurous husband. Our baby boy is going to be so fortunate to have you for his dad. I love you!

Belly Tracker

April 2009

May 2009
Here's a belly update. Don't worry I don't actually wear this ensemble out in public. I just thought it would work well to track the growth of my tummy. :)
We're growing alot around here these days. Little Baby boy is very active too. He kicks at all different times throughout the day. He's especially active right before I go to sleep and right when I wake up. I can tell he hears us now, because when we talk or sing to him he really starts moving. Tyson gets to feel his kicks at least once everyday. We love it!

Our Yard is a Busy Place

This is our newest friend, Mrs. Rabbit. She is so tame. We can walk right up to her and she'll just sit there. She actually lives across the street where you can see her going in the second pic. She has a few little babies. Even though she has them across the street, she loves our yard for some reason.
We found this Robin's nest w/ eggs in one of the bushes in the front yard. We really need to trim the thing but glad we didn't . The mom wasn't too happy with me for getting this close to take the pic.

We Had a Great Time with My Mom

We hung out out side the hospital making all our "It's a Boy" phone calls.
Nanna is very excited to see her 4th grandchild.
We had a great time looking through all the plants at the NC Farmer's Market.
I went to Texas for a few days in April to visit my family and show off the baby bump. Then my mom flew back to NC w/ me to hang out with us for a few days and join us for the ultrasound.  We had a great time.  It was so nice to have her here to experience a little day to day life with us.  I started having some lower back issues that slowed us down a bit. The good thing that came out of that was I found an awesome chiropractor that specializes in helping pregnant women.  The chiropractor herself has a six month old, and she also delivered naturally at the birthing center.  Mom was able to go to the first visit with me and it was just comforting to have her there.  Living so far apart we don't get those opportunities much.  The day we had the ultrasound was so magical.  It couldn't have been more perfect.  We all let out squeals of excitement when the lady told us it was a boy.  Afterwards we took my mom to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner to celebrate the baby and an early Mother's Day.  YUM!!
Mom, I'm so proud of you for flying and you're welcome back as often as you want to come. :)

Our first Baby Boy Purchases

I'm a sucker for green and navy blue.
Had to get these baseball pajamas in honor of my brother.

We had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory (which is located at the local mall) to celebrate after the ultrasound. Wouldn't you know Gymboree was just a few steps away and my mom and I practically sniffed it out. They were having major clearance sell and my mom snagged these two items for us. I can already see how difficult it's going to be to contain myself.

It's a........BOY!!

Here is a pic of the proof that this is indeed a B-O-Y.
We're happy to announce we are the proud parents of a little baby boy! My mom was able to be with us last Thursday when we had the ultrasound. It's up there as one of the most exciting days of my life. We asked the tech not to tell us right away if she could see boy or girl so we could look and guess. We've been thinking girl because of the high heartrate, but now we know boys can have high heart rates too. We guessed boy when we saw the images and our tech confirmed with a big grin and a nod. I think we all three squealed and screamed at once. I was just so overjoyed and thankful that his development is going well and now we get to imagine what life will be like with this little guy running around. I took my sister-in-law's advice and ate an apple before we went and he was moving around the whole time. I few times we could see him kick on the screen and I would feel a little thump at the same time. Oh yeah, I've been feeling little flutters for a couple of weeks now which is so fun. The doctor came in and told us everything looked great but she suspected I was about a week further along based on the baby's size, so now we have a possible due date of Sept. 23rd. This is our fourth due date so I'm just going to plan on having a baby some time between Sept. 23 and Oct. 6.
We had a great week with my mom and I'll post more on that soon.
