A Walk in the Park

I took these close up pics of Samuel on Sunday when we went for a walk at one of our favorite parks. He had such a great time riding in his stroller and looking around at everything.

He's beginning to have a wide variety of expressions he makes. I just snapped away with my camera trying to capture as many of them as I could.

The above photo is one of his "thoughtful" looks.

I love this one. He makes this little look with his mouth all the time and I think it's so cute!

ALL-NIGHT-LONG

This is the face of someone who had just slept through the night for the very first time ever!! This happened on Sunday night. We put him down around 8pm and he did not wake up until 4:15 am. I fed him and put him back down, and he didn't wake up again until 7:20 am. Needless to say Tyson and I were beside ourselves (in a good way!). We woke up around 4 am and realized we hadn't heard him all night. We weren't about to walk in his room at the risk of waking him, so we laid in bed listening to him breathe/snore on the monitor with sheer delight. :) I know this may not sound like such a big deal, but when you haven't slept more than 3 consecutive hours in 4 and a half months it's a HUGE deal. We were so proud of our little butterball for making it 8 straight hours on his own. I guess you're wondering how Monday night went. Well...he woke up twice but still slept in until 7:20 so we'll take that. I think we've turned a corner. He is also doing amazingly well riding in the car now. The last several car rides I've had him by myself he settles in back there and doesn't make a peep unless it's happy sounds. What a relief!

Puppy PJ's

This was the first time I put this adorable puppy pajama set on the little fella. It was very close to his bedtime at that point and you can see how much he appreciated all of the accessorizing. Being propped on the sofa for a few photos to be taken really just topped it off!

We've found His Neck

We've joked from the beginning that we weren't sure if Little Bit had a neck because he's been so chubby and all we see his cute little fat rolls (double chin). This week I put him on his tummy in his crib while I was putting his laundry away. When I turned around I was surprised to see not only how high he was holding his head up but it dawned on my I'd never seen that much of his neck before. He looked so proud of himself too. It seems like he's getting stronger everyday and doing something new. I can hardly keep up.

We'll revisit cereal later

To give you an update on the rice cereal introduction. We're going to give it a "rest" and come back to it. The little guy just isn't interested and frankly I don't think there's any correlation to him sleeping longer with it in his tummy. It was very cute to try and feed him. He was much more interested in the spoon than anything else. Can you find the spoon in the picture below?? I let him go ahead and grab it to see what he would do and it got stuck in one of his chins. :)
Our pediatrician said there's really no reason he needs solids right now. It's more to practice eating from a spoon than anything else. He continually made awful faces and spit the stuff out anyway. I joked with Tyson that I'm sure he'd eat it if we put a little Splenda in it.
For now, SJ is just an all out fan of breastmilk and as you can see from his pics he's not going to starve any time soon.

Four Months Old and Changing so Quickly

Can you get a glimpse of the personality???

I cannot believe how quickly the past four months has flown by. I don't know if it's because I'm so sleep deprived or because this little baby is growing and changing so quickly. I think it's the latter. :) A little more personality comes out of Samuel with each passing day. I can just look at him and laugh on a regular basis. He can make so many expressive faces these days. I can already tell he's going to have quite the sense of humor. We have his swing set up in the kitchen and he often swings while I'm cooking or doing dishes. Well, the other day he kept making some really silly noises to get my attention. Every time I turned my back he'd make the noise, and when I'd turn around and look he'd just get a little grin on his face. I've posted a few recent pics that sort of describe what Samuel is doing right now.
We have to keep a bib on him all the time because he's drooling constantly. This must be the beginnings of teething because he's chewing on everything he can get his hands on and he's been a little fussier than usual too. I took this picture today and noticed how much thicker his hair is getting also. It sort of "puffs" up on top.
Samuel loves his daddy and the two can already be so playful together. He had no problems riding on Daddy's shoulders the other day. In fact he loved it as you can see.

Keeping socks on his feet is a difficult task. He's discovered his feet and so badly wants to get them to his mouth. Anytime he has socks on this is what it looks like. The other morning when I got him up his socks were just dangling off of his toes. It was so cute.

The bib says it all! This was Baby Boy's first introduction to rice cereal. You can see by the picture below how well that went. He didn't want any part of it. I said I was going to wait until six months to introduce solids, but in hopes of less spit up and more sleep we decided to give it a try. This is something brand new, so we'll keep you posted on how it's going.
I think this is the cutest little face ever.

Samuel seems to love books and of course I'm excited about that. These are the two he's most fond of right now. The Jesus Loves Me book is his absolute favorite. He even tries to turn the pages. We read it and sing along to the songs everynight before bed. This was passed to us from cousins Kyler, Klaire, and Khloe. Thank you!

The exersaucer has opened up a whole new world for the little guy. He Loves it! Thank you Aunt Jadon for passing this along to us. This pic also captures his "shy" look he gives sometimes.

Daddy's little Wolfpack fan. SJ gets to wear this on Saturdays when he watches the basketball games with dad. I'm currently looking for some Texas A&M gear so he'll be ready for baseball season. :)

This is one of the faces I get when he wakes up from a nap (usually). Most of the time he's grinning from ear to ear when I come in to get him. There are those times when he's not such a happy camper of course...

Needless to say, we love our little Samuel so much. I still look at him everyday in wonder and amazement. We are thankful.
