Random Thoughts from a Coffee Shop
I'm sitting here at a coffee shop close by our house, just ordered a Papa John's pizza for pick up, and will be heading home in just a minute (picking up the pizza first). I've been out for a couple of hours having a little "me" time. I had to go to the Apple store and buy a new power cord for the computer since the precious little baby in the above photo used the end of the cord that plugs in to the computer as a chew toy the other day. Apparently so much saliva was involved that it shorted out permanently. To the tune of $79.99 we're back in business and I've learned my lesson. I'm supposed to be teaking a break and here I am browsing through all of my photos of Samuel picking out my favs. I posted this one for the fun of it. You can just see his little heart shinging through in this one. So pure and wide open. I love it! We took him on his first camping trip over the weekend. He had a great time and so did we. I'll post some "camping" pics soon. Well, I just received my second phone call from the homefront and the pizza is ready so I better pack up and get out of here.

Dog Sitting
We dog sat for some friends this past weekend. "Teak" was a good girl and Samuel loved her.
Never a Dull Moment
It's official. I can no longer sit Samuel on the floor and walk away for more than 2 seconds. I was so excited when I bought this foam floor mat because I thought it would be such a great spot for the little guy to play and explore.
I was certain he wouldn't figure out that the pieces came apart for now. Hmmm....the mat itself is more appealing than any of the toys I put in front of him and before I knew it today he had the "B" around his neck.
When you place him on the mat, he quickly finds his way to the edge and starts tearing it apart. I'll admit I act like I'm disappointed he's figured it out, but secretly I'm so proud of his curiosity and busy-ness. Eventually he started fussing because he couldn't get the darn thing off, and I honestly I don't know how he managed to get it around himself. I had to struggle to pull it off.

After this episode and finding him chewing on the end of the power cord for our computer, baby proofing has officially begun and the days of sitting stationary and playing with what's in front of him are O-V-E-R!!

It Won't Be Long...
Until this little boy is crawling.
I ran and got the camera yesterday when I saw this.

After that, he plops down on his belly. I bought the foam squares you see in the photos the other day and it has really helped with floor time. Samuel is much more comfortable and able to move about. The floor was just too hard even w/ our rug and putting a quilt down didn't help much either. The foam seems to be just right.

Whatever Works
It seems as long as this little stinker is attached to me somewhere somehow he's a happy camper.
I found packing him on my back allows me to do things like water plants and unload groceries.
Actually I went to Target for a little while today and Samuel stayed with Daddy. The two were having a great time and as soon as he saw me walking up he broke into this little whine like he was just realizing by seeing my that I'd been gone. Tyson and I had to chuckle. Due to the continuous fussing, I packed him in this carrier to get a few things done and he perked right up.

First Tooth!
We've got a tooth! I felt it yesterday as I was getting ready to feed Samuel. I looked down and thought his bottom gums looked a little whiter and puffier than usual. I felt them with my finger and his bottom left front tooth had broken through the gums. He won't let us see it. He keeps covering it with his tongue, so no picture yet.
I'm expecting the right one will be popping through any day now too.

Bella's Birthday
Our niece Annabella recently turned four, and we went to her "Farm" birthday party last weekend. It was super adorable complete with a petting zoo and a pony rides.
The cake was precious with a red barn and farm animials on it.
Here is the birthday girl with baby cousin Samuel.
Annabella latched on to this guinea pig right away and carried it around the entire time. Well "Tinny" the guinea pig ended up becoming a permanent member of their family by the end the day. No more petting zoo life for Tinny. He's one loved little critter.
Samuel got to hang out with his CiCi at the party. She can always get the smiles going.
The kid wanted to grab all the animals so badly.
Nana Carr enjoyed some Samuel time.
Here are three generations and one proud Papa. Once again we had a great time sharing life with our family and watching Samuel having such a great time with them.
Happy Birthday Bella!
