"Tootle"

We had a special surprise on the trail in front of us as we were finishing our walk a couple of mornings ago.  The teacher in me gets excited when Samuel gets to see the "real thing" after only knowing something by pictures in a book.

Samuel needless to say got really excited too when he saw the turtle.  He said, "Tootle, tootle!"
I had to get him out of his stroller to get a closer look.  Had I not intervened he would've been holding and hugging the little reptile.

The really cool part was when we kept walking we saw another mom and her son coming towards us holding the tiny baby turtle.  I told them we had just passed another turtle and they said they were sure this was it's baby and she was probably looking for it.

We followed them back around the corner and watched as they put the little baby down next to it's Mommy (so we think).

  2. We were at White Deer Park near our house. It's across from Lake Benson. The turtle was right out on the trail. Now we think it was looking for it's baby. One thing I love about where we live is that there's no shortage of parks or lakes or trails. We should go together sometime. :)
